Preparing AI for procurement and security review

AI adoption stalls in procurement more often than in the product. Preparing the review early is the fastest way through.

Security and procurement teams are not trying to block AI — they are trying to understand access, data handling, and accountability. The teams that move fastest prepare those answers before the review, not during it.

Start by documenting what the review will ask: SSO and role-based access, data retention, auditability, model routing, and which workflows require human sign-off. Most of this can be answered in a short, honest document.

Be transparent about what you do not have yet. Claiming certifications that are not complete erodes trust the moment it is checked. Describing current controls and a real roadmap clears review far more reliably.

Treat procurement as part of the rollout, not an obstacle to it. When governance and team workflows are designed together, adoption and approval move at the same pace.
